There are places in the world where time seems to slow, where the air itself feels kissed by poetry. The Loire Valley is one of them. Stretching like a silk ribbon across central France, the Loire is known as le jardin de la France, the garden of France, a region painted in soft greens and river blues, dotted with storybook châteaux's, and woven together by some of the most enchanting vineyards in the world. This weekend at Porron Cellars, we invite you to fall in love with the Loire Valley through your glass. From sparkling beginnings to soulful reds, pouring a curated flight that captures the heart and nuance of this unforgettable region is what we do best.
The Loire Valley is the romantic’s wine region. Less ostentatious than Bordeaux and more playful than Burgundy, the Loire is where passion meets precision, where ancient vines grow wild in chalky soils, and where each sip tells a story of wind, rain, and a winemaker’s dream.
It’s also beautifully diverse: from the saline whites of the Atlantic coast to the peppery reds of the inland hills, the Loire speaks many dialects and all of them are delicious.
And just like any great love story, it begins with a sparkle.
NV Petite Roche Saumur Brut We’re opening with a kiss of bubbles. This sparkling Saumur Brut is vibrant and precise, made in the traditional method with Chenin Blanc at its heart. Expect fine mousse, crisp orchard fruit, and a whisper of toast. It’s like standing in a French garden at golden hour—fresh, elegant, and utterly charming.
2022 Domaine de la Tourmaline Muscadet From the breezy vineyards near the Atlantic coast, this Muscadet brings a salty minerality and a racy citrus backbone. Made from Melon de Bourgogne, it’s a wine of texture and tension. This white is perfect with oysters, but stunning on its own. Think ocean spray, sun-warmed stones, and a breeze through your hair.
2022 Domaine de la Roche Bleue Pineau d’Aunis Now we journey inland, to the little-known but wildly expressive Pineau d’Aunis. This biodynamic beauty is light in body but full of character: soft red berries, crushed white pepper, with a floral lift. Chill it slightly and let it seduce you. There’s nothing quite like it.
2023 Chanteleuserie Bourgueil ‘Alouettes’ We close with a classic, a Cabernet Franc from Bourgueil that wraps you in red fruit, earth, and violet. Silky and generous, with a structure that lingers like a lover’s last glance, this wine is a beautiful reminder that the Loire doesn’t shout to be heard, it sings.
