Celebrating female winemakers of Argentina, this weekend Valeria Antolin and Julia Zuccardi wines will be featured here at Porron Cellars. As third and forth generation winemakers, there dedication to perfection is unsurmountable paving the way for future winemakers and agriculture.

The history of Santa Julia wines is rooted in the Zuccardi family's passion for winemaking in Argentina's Mendoza region. The family's commitment to quality, sustainability, and community support has shaped the Santa Julia brand. I mean just look at this history!!!

Early years

  • 1950s: Alberto Zuccardi, an engineer, began experimenting with irrigation systems in Mendoza

  • 1963: Alberto planted a vineyard in Maipú to demonstrate his irrigation system

  • 1980s: José Alberto Zuccardi, Alberto's son, took over the winery and named it after his daughter, Julia

Sustainable practices

  • 1990s: Santa Julia was created to highlight the diversity of Argentine wines

  • 1998: The family began producing their own compost and worm humus

  • Today: The family uses organic farming, compost production, lightweight glass bottles, and solar power

Community support

  • Childcare and schooling: The family provides childcare and schooling for their employees' children

  • Adult education: The family offers adult education programs

  • Health and fitness centers: The family provides access to health and fitness centers
